Fall 2023 promises a new artistic journey at the Smithsonian as several museums reimagine, reinstall or open visual art spaces. These galleries illuminate a multitude of stories, histories and artistic practices. They invite visitors to reconsider the American experience through art and learn about artists representing different cultures. They provide a more expansive view of art—one that is central to today’s most pressing conversations.
