- Description
- J. Presper Eckert (1919–1995) and John Mauchly (1907–1980) were coinventors of the ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer), the World War II-era computing device that launched the electronic computer revolution in the United States. They designed a device that, using some 18,000 vacuum tubes and thousands of other components, successfully calculated complex equations at electronic speed, a feat many believed impossible.
