- Wood block, two-sided. Image of cursive writing on recto; chop or seal of [publisher] on verso. Oval paper label "No. 4"
- Block inset into grooved wooden supports at both ends.USNM/DGA stamp with 9439a in pencil. Small rectangular label on edge with engraver's name in red: Rokuzaemon Miyata.
- Ink inscription on edge of block with paper label: Dept Int/260898/51116.
- Transfer from Bureau of Education Museum, Dept. of the Interior through Anthropology, NHB. Originally from Japanese exhibition at Centennial Exposition, Philadelphia, 1876.
