Collection History
Excavated by Gitxsan Chief Johnny Muldoe in 1898 as part of what is referred to as the "Hagwilget cache" of 35 stone clubs; transferred to Arthur Wellesley Vowell (1841-1918, Superintendent of Indian Affairs for British Columbia) soon afterward; probably in the collection of Arthur Vowell until 1916, when it was purchased by MAI through Lieutenant George T. Emmons (1852-1945, US Navy 1881-1899).
