- BYZANTINE. By the same hand. (Encaustic, g.b.g. 7 x 9.) Representing the triumph of Christianity over Paganism. Saints Dicaterina and Mercurios, whose names are given, are spearing the Roman Emperors, Julian the Apostate and Maxentius, from whose mouths issue flames.
