- Description
- Landscape and figure sketch of a Jamaican laborer of African descent who appears to prepare to scale a curving palm tree. From lower center, the palm's trunk curves to the upper right corner, and is rendered with high level of finish. In middle distance at left, the trunk of another tree rises out of frame. The figure lower at right wears tattered shirt and pants with a straw hat and holds a brightly-colored bundle in his left arm.
