- Tony Hawk donated his very first skateboard, given to him by his brother Steve in 1977, to the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History during Innoskate. Before giving it over to the national collections, he took one last ride. Innoskate is a public festival celebrating the innovative spirit of skateboarding, hosted by the Smithsonian's Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation and the International Association of Skateboarding Companies (IASC).
