- Coal miner holds a mining pick in both hands. His proper right hand holds the handle directly below the pick's head and his proper left hand grasps the other end of the handle. He wears boots, his uniform, and a helmet with a lamp. He stands atop a base with several inscribed plaques, one of which has profile reliefs of four miners.
