- Oil painting on poster board by Noel Howard depicting the stage set from the motion picture The Three Musketeers. Directed by George Sidney, this 1948 action film was a cinematic adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’s famous novel by the same name. The painting features scenes from the stage set, including: a street scene with filmmakers by a stone-lined pool on the edge of a forest; the Three Musketeers (in center); a member of the light crew holding a light meter; crossed swords and fishing rods beneath a microphone; Gene Kelly in water; George Sidney with his hands framing the swashbuckling scene; an overturned boat with life preserver labeled “S.S. MGM”; camera crew on boom; klieg lights. It is signed “Noel Howard ’48.”
