- Transcribed from notecard found in the tea caddy (note placed in object file):
- "George II Shagreen Tea Caddy Case with silver mounts, handle, feet escutcheon, etc. - all lined, 3 compartments with red velvet. We bought it empty years ago without the caddies. Should be put in museum for "Silversmiths' work." Pres. S. C. Hewitt."
