- Seascape sketch showing a view of a storm over a rippling, agitated sea off the coast of Mt. Desert Island in Maine. Viewed from the area known as Great Head, the ocean is spotted with white, breaking waves are two distinct rain showers are visible at center right and along the left margin. Also at left, the end of a rocky point partially juts into the scene. Along the horizon at center left and far right, the masks of two different ships are also visible. Dark, puffy storm clouds hang in the sky above as a patch of dark blue, possibly evening sky is also shown.
