- This three-kopek stamp celebrates the flight of Yuri Gagarin, who, in 1961m became the first person to orbit the Earth. It is part of a set, the other half of which illustrates the Vostok rocket and spacecraft that carried Gagarin into orbit. This is one of the first three stamps that the Soviet Union issued to commemorate Gagarin's flight
