- "The Hoen Hoard, found in 1834 in Buskerud in the south-east of Norway ... consists of a necklace, two neck-rings, three arm rings, one finger-ring and a brooch formed of a strap mount. In all there are 207 pieces, of which 54 are gold or silver-gilt objects (three of which are presumably fragments of other objects in the hoard), twenty are coins and 132 are beads of glass or semi-precious stone ... The deposition is usually dated to the third quarter of the ninth century."--P. 13.
