This copy may have been used as a working draft for a new edition by G.W. Friend or someone else in the administration of the Printseller's Association.
AAPGRB copy for volume 1, covering 1847 to the end of 1885 (barcode 39088019583491), has some handwritten annotations and corrections, with a mix of printed pages and mounted and loose printed strips for entries, with handwritten annotations and corrections (the loose headers are in a pocket mounted on page [2] of the cover).
AAPGRB copy for volume 1 has printed pages tipped in at the front: 1. list of firms of members 1st January 1893, with the auditor's report dated 13 January 1893; 2. list of firms of members 1st January 1890, with the auditor's report dated 10 January 1890; 3. list of firms of members, 1 January 1888, 41st annual report of the Printsellers' Association for the year 1887, and auditor's report dated 10 January 1888.
AAPGRB copy for volume 1 has a later gilt-tooled binding of black half-leather with dark brown embossed-cloth-covered boards; raised bands; marbled endpapers and edges; with thumb tabs cut into the fore-edges. Housed in a gray archival paperboard box measuring 32 cm.
