- Summary
- A portrait of George Washington portrayed as he makes his farewell address to the troops at Rocky Hill near Princeton, New Jersey. Having just dismounted from his horse, he stands on the horse's proper left side, the horse's reins in his proper right hand which rests against the horse's saddle. His proper left hand rests on his proper left hip. The horse stands quietly with its front right hoof raised and its head lowered. The sculpture is installed on a low rectangular base that rests atop a foliage covered mound. The mound is surrounded by a low iron fence.
