- According to the user's guide, "The TM 990/189 is a self-contained, single-board microcomputer system. It is intended for use as a learning aid in the instruction of microcomputer fundamentals, machine and assembly language programming, and microcomputer interfacing. It also demonstrates the TMS 9900 family applications and advantages." In addition to a variety of other electronic components, it includes a 45-key alphanumeric keyboard and a ten-digit, seven-segment L.E.D. alphanumeric display.
