- A full-length standing figure of African-American musician and composer Scott Joplin, wearing a short jacket with rolled sleeves, his proper right foot raised on a piano stool. Resting on the knee are music sheets printed with "MAPLE LEAF RAG," and a half-completed score, held in his proper left hand. Joplin's proper right hand is poised above his knee, holding a pen. The sculpture is mounted upon a square, polished granite base with a paneled top.
