- Description
- The small square field has an alphabet in four bands at the top and a landscape at the bottom with a house, tree, man and woman, dog, and deer. The deep border has an urn of flowers in each corner and flowers, butterflies and birds between. The inscription reads:
- Lydia Stocker Age 13 1798
- Happy is the Man that hath a friend
- Form'd by the God of Nature
- Well may he feel and recommend
- Friendship to his creator
- Embroidery covers the entire surface.
