Description
Horizontal rectangle. Public combat between armeed warriors and an elephant. All of the warriors have fallen, except one, who faces the elephant, his sword upraised. A portion of the elephant's trunk has been severed. Spectators in enclosures, right and rear. Left to center, below: "Ioan. Stradanus invent. / Carol de Mallery Sculp. / Phls Galle excud." Below: "ANNIBAL IN BELLO CAPTOS CONFLIGERE COGIT..."
