- Sketch showing an oblique view of a rectangular Roman sarcophagus in Rome or Pompeii, Italy. Supported by an elaborate base, the sarcophagus features on its side a carving of a winged creature, and of kneeling figures in the corners of its lid. The long side of the sarcophagus is blank.
- Verso: Architecture and landscape sketch showing a frontal view of a rectangular Roman sarcophagus in the immediate foreground at left, and a church with a tower beside a tree in the distance at right. The sarcophagus features several indistinct carvings on its face, with those of kneeling angels in the corners of its lid.
