- Sketch showing an oblique view of a rectangular Roman sarcophagus in Rome or Pompeii, Italy. Supported by an elaborate base, the sarcophagus features on its side a carving of a winged creature, and of kneeling figures in the corners of its lid. The long side of the sarcophagus is blank.

The sarcophagus features several indistinct carvings on its face, with those of kneeling angels in the corners of its lid.
