Description
Revolutionary War service payment slip owned by Crippen Archer. The payment slip is printed on off-white paper with black ink. The slip has brown, handwritten text in the spaces provided for a soldier’s name and the sum of payment. The handwritten text reads “Crippen Archer” and “Three Pounds Seven Shillings, Two pence.” The bottom of the slip is signed by J. Lawrence. Additional handwritten text is on the back of the slip including an “x” mark made by Crippen Archer in place of a signature. The document has a round hole in the left side.
