- Glass jar with paper label that reads in part “RADITHOR / CERTIFIED / Radioactive Water / Contains / Radium and Mesothorium / in Triple Distilled Water” and “Prepared and / Guaranteed by / BAILEY RADIUM / LABORATORIES / 336 Main Street, / East Orange, N. J.” William John Aloysius Bailey (1884–1949) was a Harvard College dropout who promoted radium as a cure for many common ailments.
