Psychological Test, Army Illustrated Literacy Test DST-IIa
Object Details
- U.S. War Department
- Description
- As the need for service members increased in the course of World War II, the U.S. Army abandoned its policy of not inducting illiterate men. Special training units were established to give those who failed literacy tests instruction for up to thirteen weeks before they underwent basic training. This 1943 test was used to place those in these units at an appropriate grade level for literacy training.
