- This framed presentation set, which includes a miniature NASA flag and STS-30 mission patch, both flown aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis in May 1989, was presented to Paul. E. Garber by the docent corps of the National Air and Space Museum. The centerpiece of the set is a hand-illustrated letter from the Museum's docent corps to Paul Garber expressing their appreciation for Garber's many years of service to the Museum. The letter itself, which was signed by dozens of Museum docents, was flown, along with the other two pieces of memorabilia, by NASA Astronaut Mary Cleave aboard STS-30, which flew from May 4th through 8th 1989. When returned to Earth, the three flown pieces were framed along with a testimonial by Mary Cleave that the objects were flown, and two photographs: one of the mission launch and another of the mission's main payload, the Magellan probe bound for Venus.
- The Office of Volunteer Services donated the framed set to the Museum in 1989.
