- Description
- Red earthenware, thrown. The bulbous body tapers into a long cylindrical neck with a flaring lip. Throughout the form, prominent concentric ridges indicate the vessel is wheel-thrown. Squared handle applied at the shoulder on one side and small curved hook on the other. Body decorated with three large crabs in yellow and white underglaze slip, with stylized plant life in dark brown slip. Exterior: slip underglaze, yellow glaze over red earthenware, known as Mahogany ware; aventurine effects in glaze.
