Collection History
Presented by Edward Rawson (1615-1693, secretary of the Massachusetts Bay Colony), to the chiefs of tribes who had aided the colonists during King Philip's War on June 20, 1676; acquired by Clay Fielden (1896-1966, an antique firearms collector and dealer in Austin, Texas) in 1960 from an unknown source in New York State; traded by Mr. Fielden to Roland E. Jester (1903-1995) and Margo (Margarita) Jester (1908-1978), owners of Margo Authentic Antiques (St. Louis, Missouri) in 1960; purchased by MAI from Mr. and Mrs. Jester and Margo Authentic Antiques in 1961.
