- The .69 caliber Palmetto Musket was essentially a U.S. Model 1842 Percussion Musket made under contract by William Glaze at the Palmetto Armory in Columbia for the state of South Carolina. The bulk of them were assembled from surplus or rejected parts from the Springfield Armory.
