- Description
- A chinoiserie design reproduced from an old Zuber, French wallpaper of the late 18th century. Composed of two different motifs in a drop repeat and both are garden fantasies. One motif is of a Chinese lady reading in her garden with her attendants. Summer houses and trellised arbor in background. The second motif consists of men serving food from pot, while another man is ringing gong, and another catching fish in a net. Garden architecture in background. Printed on margin: "Phila. A.L. Diament, N.Y. Pagoda".
