- Description
- Architecture sketch showing a view of the northern peristyle of the Parthenon in Athens, shown from the west. A stone corridor extends obliquely from the foreground into the middle distance at center left. A tall, stone wall delineates the corridor at right while a colonnade frames the view at left. At center, at the end of the corridor, a dark, brown-hued column is prominently visible, supporting a ruinous entablature. The sky behind and above is dark and grey, suggesting storm clouds.
