Sheet, Minnesota Rate of Manipulation, Rehab. #9
Object Details
- Description
- The Minnesota Rate of Manipulation Test emerged from the Minnesota Manual Dexterity text, an examination first published in the early 1930s. William A. Ziegler (1882-1964?) published versions of the test under both names, using the first title in 1932 and the second in 1936 and 1939. The Psychological Corporation in New York would publish the Rate of Manipulation Test as well, and revisions remain in print. The apparatus tested the rate of work an individual could do with hands, fingers, and arms. It considered work in both factory and office. The first part of the test involved placing round discs in round holes, the second in turning them over and returning them to the holes.
- Ziegler apparently was born in Minnesota, taught school for a time, and then enrolled at the University, earning an M.A. He was an instructor in mathematics and mechanics in the College of Engineering and Architecture at the University of Minnesota in the mid-1940s.
- This blank score sheet has space for entering results on four trials of both parts of the test. It may have been intended for testing those requiring rehabilitation.
- For an example of the test, see MG.311913.05.
