- During the 1920s American psychologists proposed a wide range of tests for use by employers and educators, including examinations for aptitude for various occupations. George Washington University psychology professor Fred August Moss (1893-1966) prepared this test for teacher aptitude with faculty member Thelma Hunt (1903-1992) and graduate student Florence Catherine Wallace [later Bose] (1895-1981).
- The examination is in five parts. The first considers judgment in teaching situations, the second reasoning and information concerning school problems, the third comprehension and retention, the fourth observation and recall, and the fifth recognition of mental states from facial expressions.
