- This Warren Davis basketball card is number 229 in a series of 264 that was manufactured by the Topps Company Inc. of New York, New York for the 1973-1974 ABA season. The front of the card features a posed picture of Memphis Tams forward Warren Davis. The card’s reverse features a small cartoon image illustrating the factoid that “Warren’s nickname is Checkmate,” as well as a short biographical sketch and career statistics.
- Warren Davis had a six-year career in the ABA, playing for the Anaheim Amigos, the Los Angeles Stars, the Pittsburgh Pipers, The Floridians, Carolina Cougars, and the Memphis Pros/Tams. Davis would be named an ABA All-Star in 1969 and averaged 12 points and nine rebounds per game during his career.
