- This Elmore Smith basketball card is number 19 in a series of 264 manufactured by the Topps Company Inc. for the 1973-1974 NBA season. The front of the card features a posed picture of the Buffalo Braves center. The card’s reverse features a small cartoon image illustrating the factoid that “Elmore has 3 younger brothers playing basketball,” as well as a short biographical sketch and career statistics.
- Elmore played for eight seasons in the NBA (1971-1979) as a member of the Buffalo Braves, Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Cleveland Cavaliers. Elmore led the league in blocks per game and total blocks in 1974. On October 28, 1973, Smith set the all-time single-game record of 17 blocks against the Portland Trail Blazers.
