- This Byron Beck basketball card is number 187 in a series of 264 that was manufactured by the Topps Company Inc. for the 1972-1973 American Basketball Association season. The front of the card features a posed picture of the Denver Rockets Forward/Center on a yellow background. The card’s reverse features a small cartoon image illustrating the factoid that “They call him ‘Lord Byron’,” as well as a short biography and career statistics.
- Beck played in the ABA for the duration of the league’s existence (1967-1976), as a member of the Denver Rockets/Nuggets. He played his final season in the NBA in 1977 as the Nuggets were one of four ABA teams who joined the NBA. Beck's jersey number (40) was the first retired in Nuggets franchise history on December 16, 1977.
