- Summary
- A large relief comprised of eight panels affixed to the facade of the school. The relief depicts a large boat filled with notable characters from Greek mythology. From left to right the figures are Artemis, with wings; Helios, with the sun behind him; Silenus, dressed in a toga, and sitting atop an ass, holding a bunch of grapes in his raised proper right hand; Pallas Athena, dressed in a war helmet and shield; the Minotaur; Chiron; Heracles, holding an anchor off the side of the boat; Orpheus, with his lyre; and a muse relining on her back and holding a trumpet to her mouth with her proper right hand. Flying above the boat from left to right are the figures of Eros, holding a bow with his extended proper left arm and his proper right arm pulled back; Icarus; and Hermes wearing a winged helmet and holding a caduceus, or magic wand, in his extended proper left hand. Alongside the boat swims the Triton holding a shell to his mouth with his proper left hand while holding a leash attached to three dolphins with his proper right hand.
