- From NMNH Exhibit Hall "Eternal Life in Ancient Egypt" label for this artifact, 2011: Mummified ibis; Species: Threskiornis aethiopicus, sacred ibis (probable); 332-30 B.C. Embalmers bound this ibis with swatches of different quality linen, and oils and resins left the blackish-brown stains. It contains only a leg and wing from a sacred ibis.
