- This is an approximate 1:24 scale model of the U.S. Air Force Thrust-Augmented Thor-Agena D rocket. The rocket was launched over 60 times from 1963-1968, primarily to place the highly-classified Corona photoreconnaissance satellites in orbit. It had a standard liquid-fuel Thor first stage, with three solid-fuel strap on boosters. The second stage was a liquid-fuel Agena D that carried the Corona cameras and film return capsules in its nose. This model was donated by the National Reconnaissance Office to NASM in 1996.
