- This is a model of unknown scale of the Hound Dog AGM-28, a U.S. Air Force air-to-ground missile which also had the designation Hound Dog GAM-77. Carried by and launched from B-52 intercontinental bombers, it had a nuclear warhead and was designed to destroy Soviet air defense systems enabling the bombers to reach their targets. The missile had a maximum speed of Mach 2.1, a range of 710 miles, could fly from tree-top level to 55,000 feet, and utilized an inertial navigation system linked to the aircraft. First deployed in the early 1960s, it was withdrawn from service in 1976.
