- Summary
- This is an assembled flying V-2 missile model of 1:40 scale, produced by Centuri Engineering. It is based on the Nazi V-2 missile that carried a 2,000 pound conventional warhead up to 200 miles and was used extensively against London, Antwerp, and other Allied cities during 1944-1945. The model has a pasteboard body, balsa nosecone and fins, and a plastic parachute. A solid propellant rocket motor propels the model; the parachute is deployed at the end of the vertical flight. The model can be retrieved and used again.
- This model was donated to the Museum in 1970 by the manufacturer, one of the largest American makers of flying models.
