- Summary
- A bronze statue of the Roman goddess of battle Minerva standing atop a stone monument representing Brooklyn, her left hand raised to salute the Statue of Liberty over in the New York Harbor, and her right hand placing a wreath atop the Altar to Liberty. The monument is adorned with bronze inscription plaques, one of which is inscribed with a poem written by student Sarah Day, the winner of a writing contest in honor of the Battle of Long Island.
