- James D. Smillie (1833-1909) of New York engraved this image of "Military Plaza - San Antonio, Texas" after an original illustration by Arthur Schott (1814-1875). The print was published as the frontispiece print for Volume 1, Part 1 of the "Report on the United States and Mexican Boundary Survey." by William H. Emory (1811-1887). The volume was printed in 1857 by A. O. P. Nicholson (1808-1876) of Washington, D.C.
