- Compound monocular microscope with coarse and fine focus, rectangular stage, trunion, sub-stage mirror, tri-leg base, and wooden case with drawers and accessories. The “Dancer / Optician / Manchester” inscription refers John Benjamin Dancer (1812-1887), an English optical instrument maker who was, perhaps, best known for his work with microphotographs.
