Mercury Barometer
Object Details
- Description
- This is a mercury barometer in a mahogany case. The barometer scale extends from 27 to 31 inches of mercury, and is read by a vernier. On the front of the case is an alcohol-in-glass thermometer with scale from 10 to 212 degrees Fahrenheit. The “Brooke Fecit Norwich” inscription might refer to Abraham Brook, author of Miscellaneous Experiments and Remarks on Electricity, the Air Pump, and the Barometer (Norwich, 1789).
