- This Apollo 7 commemorative medal was designed by the Italian sculptor, Constantino Affer. The Apollo 7 mission was launched on October 11, 1968, and returned to earth nine days later. As the first human flight of the Apollo spacecraft, Apollo 7 remained in earth orbit during the entire mission. Walter Schirra, Jr., Donn Eisele, and Walter Cunningham were the three astronauts.
