Hand-colored cinema card for actress Marceline Day with a short biography on the back. American actress Marceline Day was born on 24 April 1908 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After receiving an education in Salt Lake City, UT, she began to pursue an acting career. Day's first film appearance was in 1925, but her most well-known role came in 1927 when she starred opposite John Barrymore in The Beloved Rogue. Day also starred in films with actors Buster Keaton, Harry Langdon, and her sister, Alice Day. She transitioned into talkies and also had a successful career in westerns. She retired from acting in 1933 and lived a private life until her death in 2000 at the age of 91.
This card belongs to a set titled "Cinema Stars: A Series of 30 Hand Coloured Pictures" which features popular film actresses from the 1930s. Collectible cards like this were very popular during the 1920s and 1930s, and they were distributed by various brands in both tobacco and food products.
