- Summary
- 80 pages. Sketchbook is identified as Gurr's on the inside front cover: "Lena Gurr, 240 W. 14th St., New York City." First page inscribed by Gurr: "The nude and figure studies were done in Moses Soyer's studio in the early 1930s" and "studies for paintings are included in between sessions." There are sketches on some of the pages' versos. Images are graphite including nude and clothed figure studies; sketches of hands and feet; studies for a painting of a seamstress, violinist, and still life.
Condition: both front and back covers are dirty and detached from the sketchbook. Pages are in good condition, the first two pages are unbound. There is a small water stain on the right hand edge on about half of the pages. - Citation
