- Summary
- Painting depicts a Renaissance-style sculpture of the Ave Maria (Virgin Mary and Child) carved by a student of Jacopo Sansovino. Sculpture is housed inside a large, travertine wall niche with a gabled surbaisseĢ pediment. At the lower left corner of the sculpture is a lone, ornate wrought iron gas lantern with scroll detail. The wall facade and sculpture are located under the Villa Medici at the end of the ramp of San Sebastianello near the Piazza de Popolo. Nearest physical address is Via di S.
