- Description
- A view of a water display within the gardens of Versailles, named the Arc de Triomphe with a trellis temple façade featuring arches, a pediment and cascading fountains and small basins on different levels, a buffet and pyramid of fountains. Flanking on either side there are two large, tiered cascading fountains. Throughout smaller jets of water from fountain basins on plinths and large obelisk fountains with water streaming into basins below. In the foreground there are rectangular basins with cascading water. The whole is framed by trellis/ lattice walls and trees. Figures (courtiers). The plate is titled with a description below.
