Lantern Slide Related to the Work of Dr. Frederick C. Robbins and Colleagues on the Polio Virus - Showing Cytopothic Effect
Object Details
- Description
- According to a caption provided by Dr. Robbins: This slide shows three test tubes, each containing fluid harvested from cultures inoculated with virus to show cytopothic effect. The red color of one tube means tissue is killed and no longer metabolizing. The yellow color means the tissue is still viable. The virus effect was neutralized by specific antiserum, not by normal (antibody-free) serum nor by heterologous serum.
